Wakefield, VA – Early rain and fog will linger across central and southeastern Virginia this morning, impacting morning commutes and visibility. Drivers along I-95 and other major routes should use caution as reduced visibility and slick roads remain possible through midday.
According to the National Weather Service, patchy drizzle and fog are expected before 11 a.m. Monday. As the day progresses, rain chances will decrease, and conditions will gradually improve. High temperatures today will reach around 48 degrees, with light winds calming in the afternoon.
Skies will begin clearing Monday night as temperatures drop to the mid-40s, followed by drier and milder conditions into Tuesday. Drivers should expect patchy morning fog again on Tuesday before sunshine takes over, with daytime highs climbing to 63 degrees.
By midweek, another weather system will bring rain to the area. On Wednesday, rain is expected primarily after 1 p.m., with an 80% chance of precipitation. Temperatures will remain moderate, reaching a high near 53 degrees. Rain showers will likely continue into Wednesday night, followed by clearing skies into Thursday morning.
Thursday will provide a much-needed break, with mostly sunny conditions and highs near 44 degrees, though cooler overnight lows will drop into the upper 20s.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for changing weather throughout the week, including rain-soaked roads, foggy mornings, and cooler nighttime temperatures. Keep an eye on weather updates, and plan commutes carefully, especially during peak hours.
