Thanksgiving Week Weather: Shreveport to See Mild Days and Slight Rain Chances Midweek

Shreveport, LA – Residents of northwest Louisiana are enjoying a weekend of mild weather, with sunny skies and temperatures climbing steadily. Forecasts for Sunday indicate highs near 79°F, marking the start of a warming trend leading into Thanksgiving week.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, Sunday will remain sunny with light winds up to 15 mph. Nighttime temperatures are expected to dip to 46°F, providing cool but comfortable conditions. Residents traveling for the holiday should prepare for calm weather on area roadways, including I-20 and Highway 71, with no rain expected through early next week.

Monday brings even warmer conditions, with highs reaching 80°F under mostly sunny skies. Winds could pick up slightly, gusting as high as 20 mph. Nighttime lows will hover around 48°F, remaining consistent through midweek.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, skies will stay partly cloudy, with daytime highs in the mid-60s to low-70s. A slight chance of rain—less than 20%—is forecast for Thanksgiving Day and Friday, although significant precipitation remains unlikely.

Residents planning outdoor Thanksgiving celebrations can expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 66°F. Those traveling later in the week should remain aware of changing conditions but can anticipate minimal disruptions.
