Seattle, WA – The National Weather Service has extended the flood warning for the Bogachiel River near La Push, Washington, through Sunday morning. Heavy rainfall has caused the river to rise above flood stage, currently measuring 38.0 feet as of late Saturday night.

According to the NWS, State Highway 110 near the Bogachiel Bridge is closed due to flooding. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by early Sunday morning and continue decreasing throughout the day.

Residents and motorists are urged to avoid flooded areas and follow posted barricades. Most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles, so drivers should not attempt to pass through standing water.
