Germantown, WI — Early Sunday morning, local fire crews responded to a residential blaze on Holy Hill Road near Division Road. Flames were spotted on the roof of a garage attached to the home.
According to the Germantown Fire Department, the fire broke out at 7:52 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters arrived quickly to find smoke and flames coming from the garage soffit vents. The Village of Germantown, which lacks water utilities, required additional resources to extinguish the flames. The fire was upgraded to Working Still Level for more manpower.
Fire crews extinguished the fire with no injuries to residents or animals. The homeowner was not present at the time. The fire caused minor damage to one side of the garage and upstairs smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities do not suspect foul play. The Germantown Fire Department thanked surrounding agencies and a vigilant passerby for their assistance.
