Fort Wayne, IN – A Pennsylvania man was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital following a crash on U.S. 30.
The accident took place around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday and involved a cargo van and a semi in the eastbound lanes near State Road 19. Felix Farinola, 49, of Harrisburg, PA, was driving a 2014 Mercedes van when he rear-ended a 2006 Peterbilt semi that had stopped for a red light.
According to authorities, Farinola sustained serious injuries and required an airlift from the scene. The driver of the semi, Michael Worsham, 74, of Bourbon, was not injured.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Farinola may have been following the semi too closely, which led to the collision. His current condition has not been made public.
