Danville, IL – A Potomac man was sentenced to six years in prison after a Meijer theft arrest led to a methamphetamine charge. Charles Parham, 34, pleaded guilty on October 8 to unlawful possession of meth, a Class 3 felony.
Parham was arrested on September 1, 2023, following a retail theft incident at Meijer in Danville. Police stopped Parham and found his wallet in his front pocket. A search revealed a small plastic bag containing 0.2 grams of a crystal substance, which field-tested positive for meth.
The Illinois State Police Forensic Science Laboratory later confirmed the substance as methamphetamine. Vermilion County Judge Robert McIntire sentenced Parham to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. His sentence includes six months of mandatory supervised release.
