Las Vegas, NV – The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the Las Vegas Valley, Moapa Valley, and surrounding areas. The warning is in effect through Tuesday, with temperatures expected to surpass previous records. Southern San Bernardino County, central and southern Mohave County, and the Colorado River Valley are also impacted.

According to the National Weather Service, 2024 has set multiple all-time heat records, leading to increased fatigue for residents. Heat impacts are expected to occur more easily due to the prolonged exposure during summer. Officials are urging residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities to cooler times of the day, before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.

Late-season heat can be particularly dangerous, especially after a long summer. Take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illness, which can escalate quickly in these conditions. Stay indoors, drink plenty of water, and remain aware of updated weather alerts through local news outlets or official sources.
