Tampa, FL – Scattered thunderstorms are expected to impact the Tampa Bay area today as moisture from the Gulf of Mexico moves inland. The National Weather Service reports that a westerly flow is drawing significant moisture into the Florida Peninsula, leading to an increased likelihood of rain throughout the region.

According to the latest forecasts, Tampa Bay will experience a 55% chance of rain today, with temperatures reaching a high of 91°F. As the moisture continues to flow in, the probability of thunderstorms remains elevated, with a 70% chance of rain on Thursday and a slight cooling to 86°F. The pattern persists into the weekend, with Friday and Saturday showing rain chances of 40% and 45%, respectively, and highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Residents should prepare for possible heavy downpours, localized flooding, and gusty winds during thunderstorms. The wet weather is expected to continue into early next week, with rain chances staying at 40% from Sunday through Tuesday. Highs will hover around the low 90s, with overnight lows in the mid-70s.

As the moisture from the Gulf continues to influence Florida’s weather, residents are advised to stay updated on local forecasts and take necessary precautions, particularly in flood-prone areas.
