Pittsburgh, PA – Residents in the Pittsburgh area, along with those in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, should prepare for severe weather today, with the US National Weather Service issuing a Slight Risk alert. Severe storms are expected mainly between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., potentially bringing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. The primary risk area includes regions near Interstate 70.

According to the US National Weather Service, the Marginal Risk remains south of I-70, with the main hazards being damaging winds. In addition, excessive rainfall could cause localized flooding, especially in eastern Ohio, southwestern Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia.

The weather forecast indicates partly cloudy conditions from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., transitioning to mostly cloudy by 2 p.m. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 91°F, with a 60% chance of rain. The next few days will see fluctuating weather patterns, including a 40% chance of rain on Wednesday with a high of 76°F and a 30% chance of rain on Thursday with a high of 83°F.
