The National Weather Service predicts a 55% chance of showers on Saturday, with temperatures peaking at 89 degrees. Sunday will bring even more rain, with a 65% chance of precipitation and highs reaching 89 degrees.
According to the NWS Melbourne office, July 2024 was one of the hottest months on record for the region, with Orlando experiencing its warmest July ever. This trend of high temperatures continues into August, contributing to the likelihood of thunderstorms throughout the weekend.
On Monday, rain chances remain high at 60%, with temperatures expected to reach 90 degrees. The pattern of afternoon thunderstorms and warm temperatures will persist into Tuesday and Wednesday, with a 50% and 20% chance of rain, respectively, and highs around 90 degrees.
