South Bend, IN – Residents across northeast Indiana, southern Michigan, and northwest Ohio are on high alert as the National Weather Service issues a Wind Advisory for the region. Winds with gusts reaching up to 45 mph are expected to begin late this morning and persist into the early evening hours.

The advisory follows scattered showers that are anticipated to subside by afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, outdoor objects should be secured to prevent them from becoming airborne hazards. The strong winds, alongside runoff from recent rainfall, pose river flooding threats that are likely to extend through the weekend.

While Saturday promises clearer skies and moderate temperatures, Sunday is set to heat up with a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Residents are urged to follow safety guidelines and stay informed on weather updates.
