Clearlake, CA – Gardeners and growers across Lake and Mendocino counties face a narrow window of freezing temperatures early Tuesday that could damage crops before sunrise.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, a Frost Advisory remains in effect from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday, with temperatures dropping as low as 33 degrees across Northern Lake County and inland Mendocino areas. The coldest spots will be in sheltered valleys and rural المناطق where frost can form quickly on exposed vegetation.

Communities including Clearlake, Lakeport, Willits, and Covelo are most at risk, especially in low-lying areas where cold air settles overnight. While some valley fog may develop and limit frost in isolated spots, most locations will still see conditions cold enough to harm sensitive plants.

Residents are urged to cover outdoor vegetation, bring potted plants indoors, and protect early-season crops. Even a brief dip near freezing can cause lasting damage to gardens and agricultural fields.

Temperatures are expected to rise after sunrise, reducing the frost threat by mid-morning, but additional cold nights could prompt further advisories this week.
