Ohio–Kentucky – Warm, humid air is building fast across the Cincinnati metro, and you can already feel the shift as clouds thicken and roads begin to dampen ahead of incoming storms.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, scattered storms are expected to develop into Friday, with some capable of producing strong wind gusts. While widespread severe weather is not guaranteed today, conditions are becoming more favorable for stronger storms as the pattern evolves.

Across Cincinnati and northern Kentucky, drivers along I-71, I-75, and I-275 should prepare for bursts of rain and reduced visibility, especially later in the day and into the evening. Temperatures surge into the low 80s, adding energy to developing storms. Keep headlights on and allow extra space during sudden downpours.

Meteorologists are now tracking a more active stretch into the first weekend of April. Rain chances increase to 70% Friday, with additional storms possible. By Saturday, widespread showers and thunderstorms push coverage closer to 90%, raising concerns for ponding on roads and slower travel.

While severe weather remains uncertain, a few storms could bring gusty winds and lightning. Stay weather-aware if you have outdoor plans. Conditions may deteriorate quickly during heavier cells.

By Sunday, cooler air settles in with sunshine returning and highs dropping into the mid-50s. That shift brings relief after a warm, stormy stretch.

Looking ahead, early next week trends calm and mild, with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s. Spring is starting to settle in, but the active pattern is not done yet.
