Boston, MA – Dry and sunny conditions will give way to a wet midweek pattern across Massachusetts and Southern New England, with widespread rain expected to arrive late Wednesday, May 13, and continue into Friday, May 15.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Tuesday, May 12, will bring pleasant conditions with sunshine and highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s across Suffolk County, the Greater Boston metro, and surrounding areas.
Changes begin Wednesday, May 13, as a few early showers develop before steadier and more widespread rain moves in later in the day. Temperatures will remain mild, generally in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
The wettest period is expected Thursday, May 14, when widespread soaking rain is likely across much of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. This could lead to ponding on roadways and slower travel during the day.
By Friday, May 15, rain is expected to taper off, with improving conditions developing into the afternoon as drier air begins to move into the region.
While no severe weather is expected, the extended period of rain could impact commutes, outdoor plans, and visibility on major roadways, including I-90 and I-93 through the Boston metro.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry weather early in the week and prepare for a wetter pattern heading into midweek.
