Corpus Christi, Texas – Heat and dry air will intensify fire خطر across South Texas through Friday, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s and creating conditions favorable for rapid fire spread.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, sunny to partly cloudy skies will dominate through the end of the workweek, with highs reaching between 79°F and 95°F Wednesday and Thursday before peaking near 97°F Friday. Low humidity and continued dry conditions will support elevated fire weather concerns across the Coastal Bend and inland areas.
Communities including Corpus Christi, Kingsville, Alice, and Beeville will face the highest risk during the afternoon hours, especially along the I-37 corridor where dry fuels can ignite easily. Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, but even minimal wind can spread flames quickly under these conditions.
Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, properly dispose of cigarettes, and delay activities that could produce sparks. Fire خطر will remain elevated through Friday evening before slightly cooler temperatures arrive over the weekend, with highs easing back into the upper 70s and 80s.
Additional advisories may be issued if conditions worsen as the heat peaks heading into Friday.
