Albany, New York – Dry conditions and sunshine will make for smooth travel across eastern New York today, with no weather-related disruptions expected through the afternoon hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, skies will remain mostly sunny through midday before clouds begin increasing later in the afternoon. High temperatures will range from the mid-30s in higher elevations like Old Forge and Newcomb to the upper 40s in valley locations including Poughkeepsie and Albany.

Cities such as Glens Falls, Pittsfield, and Bennington will see a mix of sun and clouds by late afternoon, but conditions will stay dry across major routes including I-87 and I-90. The lack of precipitation means no concerns for slick roads or reduced visibility during the evening commute.

Temperatures will fall quickly after sunset, with overnight lows dropping into the 20s region-wide. Areas that see clearing overnight could experience patchy frost, especially in rural and low-lying locations.

Residents can expect a quiet stretch through tonight, with no active advisories in place. Additional updates will follow if conditions change later this week.
