Denver, Colo. – Dangerous heat continues across the Denver metro and much of northeast Colorado Thursday, with highs soaring into the mid and upper 90s. The National Weather Service reports record or near-record heat along the I-25 corridor, creating heightened risks for heat-related illness, especially in urban areas.

According to the NWS in Boulder, only isolated showers may develop Thursday evening over the mountains and along the northern border. Any storms that do form will be short-lived, producing light rain and gusty winds near 40 mph.

A shift arrives Friday as scattered thunderstorms spread across the Front Range and eastern plains. Some storms could turn severe with large hail and locally heavy rainfall the main threats. The weekend remains unsettled, with storm chances persisting each day, though Saturday may bring slightly less activity.

By Monday, heavier and more widespread rainfall is likely, raising flooding concerns across low-lying and urban areas. Residents are urged to avoid flooded roadways and monitor updates from local agencies. Rain and storm chances remain elevated through midweek, with the highest risks near the mountains.

Warnings and watches may be issued if storms strengthen, and residents are advised to stay weather aware through early next week.
