HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Warm and muggy conditions will linger across north Alabama tonight, with low stratus clouds expected to redevelop around midnight and a chance for patchy fog just before sunrise Tuesday. Overnight temperatures will hold steady between 70 and 74 degrees, keeping conditions humid and sticky into the morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, skies will range from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy overnight, with the greatest fog potential in low-lying and rural areas. Drivers heading out early Tuesday should be prepared for reduced visibility in spots, especially along bridges, valleys, and river crossings.

The cloudy skies overnight will help trap warmth and moisture, preventing temperatures from dropping significantly. Residents are advised to allow extra time for the Tuesday morning commute, use low-beam headlights in fog, and maintain safe following distances.

While the fog should lift by mid-morning, a similar pattern of warm, cloudy nights and patchy early fog may repeat into midweek.
