Eastern Sierra Slopes, CA – A winter storm continues to impact the Eastern Sierra Slopes, with snow accumulation reaching up to 10 inches along higher elevations and strong winds causing hazardous road conditions. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. PDT Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow is expected to fall above 6,000 feet, with up to 6 inches expected below 8,000 feet and up to 10 inches near the Sierra Crest. Wind gusts could reach up to 45 mph, exacerbating the potential for slippery roads and low visibility. The National Weather Service has advised drivers to use extreme caution when traveling in these conditions.

Impacts are already being felt in areas like Whitney Portal and Aspendell, where snow is making travel difficult and potentially dangerous. With winds adding to the chill and poor road conditions, travelers are urged to slow down and plan for delays. For real-time road information, call 1-800-427-7623.

Residents and visitors should be prepared for ongoing winter conditions until Sunday morning, with the potential for additional advisories if conditions worsen. Stay tuned for updates and plan accordingly.
