Fond du Lac County, WI – Authorities are searching for a motorcycle rider who allegedly fled deputies at speeds exceeding 140 mph during a high-speed pursuit Sunday evening.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 8:00 p.m. on May 3, 2026, when a deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding and a license plate violation on Interstate 41 near County Highway B in the Town of Byron.
Officials say the rider accelerated rapidly, reaching speeds over 130 mph as the deputy activated emergency lights and siren. The pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns.
A short time later, another deputy spotted the motorcycle exiting and re-entering I-41 near South Hickory Street in the City of Fond du Lac. Authorities say the rider again fled, this time exceeding speeds of 140 mph. Deputies noted the license plate was mounted at an angle, making it unreadable.
A third deputy later observed the suspect near Townline Road in the Town of Friendship, where the rider reportedly used the shoulder to pass vehicles before the pursuit was again terminated.
The suspect was last seen exiting Interstate 41 onto County Highway N. Officials say the rider was not located.
The suspect is described as wearing dark clothing, a dark helmet, and a jacket with two distinct stripes down the back.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
