Wenatchee, WA – A 44-year-old Wenatchee man was arrested Sunday evening after deputies said he allegedly attacked two people with a machete following a dispute over money.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:35 p.m. Sunday, May 17, to the 200 block of W. Peters Street in Wenatchee for reports of a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they located two victims suffering from injuries consistent with a machete attack.

Investigators said the incident allegedly began as a verbal dispute over money. Authorities reported the suspect left the scene following the argument before allegedly returning a short time later armed with a machete and attacking the victims.

One victim suffered injuries to the left arm and shoulder, while the second victim sustained an injury to the right arm, according to deputies. Both victims received medical treatment for their injuries.

Deputies identified the suspect as Teodoso Alvarez-Hernandez, 44, of Wenatchee. Following investigative leads, deputies located Alvarez-Hernandez at a camper in the 3000 block of School Street, where he was safely taken into custody.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies observed a machete in plain view on the passenger-side floorboard of the suspect’s vehicle during the arrest. Investigators later obtained and executed a search warrant, recovering the weapon believed to have been used in the assault.

Alvarez-Hernandez was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on two counts of second-degree assault.
