Olivet Nazarene University will host their annual Elite Prospects Camps on Sunday, June 2 and 23, 2019 from 5:30-7:30p.m. The Elite Prospects Camps started four years ago when Eric Hehman took over as ONU’s head football coach. Hehman said about the camp, “Our elite prospect camp is an opportunity for student athletes to come show case their talents, experience being coached by our staff and see our beautiful campus.”

Hehman’s mission for the camps are to find scholarship worthy athletes and get to know them on a personal level. Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line, Coach Granville LeCroix said, “We actually put the prospect’s name on their shirt and not just a number. We want to get to know them.” Getting that one on one coach to player time is how ONU sets their camps apart from other schools. LeCroix explains, “We purposefully keep our camp small so that we get a lot of one on one time with our prospects.”

At camp, prospects can look forward to doing positional drills. Most camps run by other colleges focus only on agility stations. Prospects run position drills to get to know the positions as well as experience Hehman’s coaching style.  “The prospects will know if he is the type of guy that you would want to be coached by for the next four to five years,” said LeCroix. To date, 24 of ONU’s 2019 signing class has attended at least one of ONU’s four camps last year.

The price for the camp is $40 with online pre-registration or $50 the day of. Walk up registration begins at 4:30 p.m.  Register online at https://olivet.formstack.com/forms/fbcamp.
