BOURBONNAIS – Johnathon Ward may not start the day with an NFL touch in his career, but by day’s end, he had two career firsts in one moment.
Ward, a 2015 graduate of Bishop MacNamara, had both the first NFL touch of his career and touchdown in the same play, an 11–yard run during the Week 17 matchup of Cardinals/Rams.

Ward’s run put the Cardinals on top of the Rams 6-0.
Ward signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent this Spring before his release in final cuts in early September. He was resigned the next day to the team’s practice squad.
During his time at Bishop McNamara, Ward set a school career records with 83 TDs and 5,689 rushing yards and single-season records with 2,400 rushing yards and 36 TDs, earning All-State honors and a Class 3A state title as a senior.
