Yellowstone, WY – Yellowstone National Park is under a Winter Weather Advisory as snow continues to blanket the area. Higher elevations, including Madison and Pitchstone Plateaus, could see an additional 10 to 14 inches of snow by 5 p.m. Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), travel conditions may become hazardous. Lower elevations in the park are expected to receive between 2 and 4 inches. Wind gusts of up to 30 mph are also forecast, potentially reducing visibility. Travelers are advised to proceed with caution.
Nearby areas, including Jackson Hole, are also impacted, with 2 to 5 inches of snow expected. Winds in the region could reach 30 mph, complicating travel further.
Officials urge visitors to monitor road conditions via the Wyoming Department of Transportation and to avoid unnecessary travel. Snow-packed roads and blowing snow may cause delays or closures across major routes.
