Riverton, WY – A mix of snow showers, valley rain and isolated thunderstorms will disrupt travel across Central Wyoming through Tuesday evening, as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. MDT.

According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, the advisory covers western and central Wyoming, including areas along the I-80 corridor. Mountain snow and valley rain are expected through tonight, with thunderstorms possible Tuesday in southern regions, particularly near Riverton and Casper. Daytime highs will hover in the 40s, but wind chills may dip into the 20s in higher elevations.

Travelers should expect slick conditions on highways, especially in mountainous zones and near Yellowstone and Teton counties. Winds could gust over 30 mph in open valleys Tuesday night, reducing visibility during snowfall.

By Wednesday, showers will taper off but may return late in the evening. Temperatures will gradually climb into the high 40s by Thursday, bringing partial sunshine and calmer winds. Rain and snow may again mix Friday, with another round of isolated snow showers possible into Saturday morning.
