Riverton, WY –
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Yellowstone National Park and the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains beginning 11 p.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Monday, with forecasters warning of heavy snow and strong winds that could make travel treacherous across northwestern Wyoming.
According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, snow totals are expected to reach 6 to 12 inches across most of Yellowstone, with up to 15 inches near the Southern Entrance. In the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, totals could climb even higher — between 10 and 18 inches, accompanied by gusts up to 45 mph.
Roads, especially mountain passes like Teton and Togwotee, are expected to become slick and hazardous through the weekend.
