Cheyenne, WY — A high wind warning remains in effect for Cheyenne and Laramie through noon today, with gusts reaching up to 75 mph. Motorists traveling along Interstate 80 and other exposed roadways should exercise caution, as crosswinds pose significant risks to lightweight and high-profile vehicles.

According to the National Weather Service, sustained winds of 30 to 50 mph are expected throughout the morning, with peak gusts creating hazardous travel conditions. The warning is part of a larger weather pattern affecting southeast Wyoming, which will ease by early Monday but leave blustery conditions lingering through midweek.

Sunday will bring clearing skies with a high near 52°F, but strong west-northwest winds will continue to whip the region. Tonight, temperatures will dip to 21°F under mostly clear skies, with winds gradually easing. Monday’s forecast includes increasing clouds, highs near 33°F, and lighter, yet breezy, conditions.

Looking ahead, sunny and windy conditions will return Tuesday, followed by colder weather midweek. Highs will hover in the low to mid-40s, with a chance of snow developing Thursday as a cold front moves into the area.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects and delay non-essential travel until conditions improve. For updated road conditions, visit 511.wyoroad.info or dial 511.

Be prepared for changing weather later this week as snow could create additional travel concerns. Stay alert for updates as forecasts evolve.
