Rapid City, SD – Wyoming is preparing for significant snowfall as the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued several winter storm warnings across the state, starting Tuesday afternoon and extending through Wednesday morning. Affected areas include southern Campbell County, the Northern Black Hills, and mountainous regions in Natrona and Converse Counties.
According to the NWS, accumulations may range from 4 to 15 inches, with higher elevations, such as Casper Mountain and areas in the North Laramie Range, expected to receive up to 16 inches of snow. Travelers are urged to exercise caution, as hazardous road conditions could impact Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.
Those traveling are advised to carry emergency supplies, including food, water, and a flashlight, as visibility and road conditions may worsen.
