Teen Wounded in Naperville Shooting, Police Say Incident Not Random

Naperville, IL – An 18-year-old Naperville man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest Monday night on Testa Drive, authorities reported. Officers responded around 8:48 p.m. to the 100 block of Testa Drive after receiving a report of a shooting. Police found the young man lying on a grassy area outside an apartment building, wounded but stable.

Naperville Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. Medical staff determined his injury was not life-threatening.

Officers quickly established a perimeter and detained another 18-year-old man from Naperville, identified as a person of interest. Investigators believe the two men knew each other, indicating this was not a random act.
