Schaumburg, IL – A woman was injured inside her Schaumburg home this afternoon after a stray bullet allegedly fired from a nearby residence pierced her house and struck her.
According to the Village of Schaumburg Government, the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Revere Circle. Police said the gun was allegedly fired from another home on the block, and the bullet traveled across the street before entering the victim’s residence.
The woman suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities noted that she was not the intended target.
Investigators believe the people involved are known to each other and stated there is no active threat to the public. Officers are continuing to investigate and will remain in the area.
