Green Bay, WI – A widespread winter weather advisory will take effect across much of northern and eastern Wisconsin beginning early Sunday morning, bringing snow, ice, and hazardous travel conditions through Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the advisory begins at staggered times across the region—starting as early as 4 a.m. Sunday in counties like Vilas, Oneida, and Lincoln, and lasting until 7 a.m. Monday. Snow is expected to become heavy at times, with accumulations of 3 to 6 inches likely. Areas such as Door County and Marinette County will see snowfall begin later in the morning, around 10 a.m., while Langlade, Florence, and Forest counties fall under the advisory beginning 7 a.m. Sunday.
Commuters should prepare for slippery roads and limited visibility, especially during the Monday morning rush hour. The mix of early ice and heavier snow in regions like Rhinelander and Eagle River may worsen conditions in rural and wooded areas.
Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and monitor 511 for up-to-date road conditions. While this level of snow is typical for late March in Wisconsin, timing and mixed precipitation may increase the risk of travel disruptions across the region.
