La Crosse, WI – A winter storm is set to bring heavy snow and dangerous road conditions to Wisconsin this weekend, affecting travel on major highways, including I-90.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin Friday afternoon and continue into Saturday morning, with accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. Winds up to 30 mph will reduce visibility, making driving hazardous. The heaviest snowfall is expected overnight Friday into early Saturday.
Drivers should prepare for slippery roads, especially during the Friday evening commute. If travel is necessary, allow extra time and check 511wi.gov for road updates.
Saturday will see lingering snow showers with colder temperatures dropping into the single digits by nightfall. Sunday brings clearing skies but frigid air, with highs only in the teens and wind chills below zero. More light snow is possible early next week.
Authorities advise residents to stock up on supplies and stay indoors if conditions worsen. Stay tuned for updates as the storm develops.
