Green Bay, WI – A significant winter storm is set to impact northern Wisconsin from Tuesday evening through Wednesday, bringing heavy snowfall and strong winds that could create dangerous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay, Vilas County could see between 6 and 10 inches of snow, with wind gusts reaching 35 mph. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon.

Farther south, Lincoln, Oneida, Florence, and Forest Counties are also under a Winter Storm Watch from late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon. Snowfall in these areas is expected to total between 4 and 8 inches, with wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Officials warn that the combination of heavy snow and strong winds could cause whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. The weight of the snow on tree limbs may also bring down power lines, leading to potential outages. The storm is expected to impact both the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

Residents are advised to delay travel if possible and monitor weather updates. For the latest information, visit weather.gov/GreenBay.
