Green Bay, WI – A powerful winter storm is set to impact northern Wisconsin from late Tuesday night through Wednesday night, bringing heavy snowfall, gusty winds, and hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for Lincoln, Oneida, Vilas, Florence, and Forest counties starting late Tuesday night. These areas could see between 5 and 10 inches of snow, along with ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch. Winds could gust up to 35 mph, creating dangerous blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Further south, Marathon, Langlade, and Northern Marinette counties are also under a Winter Storm Watch beginning Wednesday afternoon. Snowfall accumulations in these areas are expected to range between 3 and 6 inches, with wind gusts reaching 40 mph.

The storm is expected to impact both morning and evening commutes on Wednesday. The combination of heavy snow and strong winds may bring down tree limbs and power lines, leading to sporadic power outages. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, as travel could be difficult due to reduced visibility and slick roads.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and prepare for potential disruptions. For the latest updates, visit the National Weather Service at www.weather.gov/GreenBay.
