According to the NWS, the heat will continue to build, peaking on Tuesday with temperatures reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s. The combination of heat and humidity will result in high heat indices in the 90s, particularly in central and east-central Wisconsin. Afternoon storms are possible in the northern areas today and Tuesday.
Wednesday will bring more widespread storms, with temperatures expected to cool down slightly to the mid-70s to mid-80s. The NWS warns that some of these storms could produce torrential rainfall, leading to urban street flooding, ponding of water on roads, and rapid rises in rivers and creeks.
