Milwaukee, WI – Breezy winds and scattered showers are on the horizon for southern Wisconsin as temperatures rise slightly heading into next week. Rain is set to begin Sunday afternoon and intensify by Monday evening, impacting commutes on major routes like I-94 and Highway 43.

According to the National Weather Service, light showers may develop tonight, with a 40% chance of rain between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday. While Sunday morning remains mostly cloudy, rain could return by late afternoon, with highs reaching the mid-50s. Sunday night will bring clearing skies before heavier rain develops Monday.

By Monday afternoon, rain is likely to spread across Milwaukee County and beyond. Gusty winds from the east could reach 35 mph, making travel challenging, especially near Lake Michigan. New precipitation amounts of up to an inch are expected by late Monday night.

The rain will continue into Tuesday morning but gradually taper off by the afternoon. Highs on Tuesday will range from 57-61°F, accompanied by breezy south winds shifting west. Drivers should remain cautious during the Tuesday morning commute, as wet roads could increase travel risks.

Looking ahead, temperatures drop slightly midweek, with highs in the upper 40s Wednesday. A chance of light rain persists, especially during the afternoon.

Residents should secure outdoor items ahead of Monday’s gusty conditions and keep umbrellas handy through Tuesday. Monitor updates from the National Weather Service for changes in the forecast.
