Milwaukee, WI – Wisconsin residents should prepare for shifting weather conditions as a mix of rain and gusty winds moves into the region Friday, followed by a drop in temperatures over the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, rain showers will develop Friday afternoon, with winds gusting up to 40 mph. Patchy dense fog in southeastern and east-central Wisconsin may create hazardous driving conditions Thursday night into early Friday morning, particularly in low-lying areas and along highways such as I-94.

By Friday afternoon, the rain will be accompanied by strong southwest winds between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. A cold front moving through will bring blustery northwest winds Friday night, dropping temperatures to the low 20s.

Weekend Outlook:

Saturday: Mostly sunny but cooler, with highs in the upper 20s. Winds will remain breezy from the north at 10–15 mph.

Sunday: Sunshine returns, with a high near 34°F and calmer winds from the northwest at 5 mph.

Looking ahead, the start of March will bring increased chances of rain early next week, with a stronger system expected by Tuesday. Rain will likely continue through Wednesday, potentially impacting commutes.

Drivers are advised to slow down in foggy conditions, use headlights, and remain cautious on slick roads. Those traveling Friday should prepare for windy conditions and dress for colder weather over the weekend.
