Green Bay, Wisconsin – Residents across northeast Wisconsin should prepare for a prolonged stretch of unsettled weather this week, with the highest rain chances arriving Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures fall below normal for mid-June.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through much of the week. Rain probabilities increase significantly Tuesday and Wednesday, ranging from 60% to 90% across the region. Cloud cover and persistent precipitation are expected to keep temperatures cooler than average.

Monday will begin with a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, with rain probabilities between 30% and 50%. High temperatures are forecast to reach between 72 and 78 degrees in Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc and surrounding communities.

The wettest period of the week is expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Across Wisconsin, widespread showers and thunderstorms could impact travel, outdoor work and recreation. Tuesday’s highs are forecast between 66 and 75 degrees, while Wednesday remains even cooler with temperatures ranging from 65 to 72 degrees. These readings are several degrees below typical mid-June averages.

Communities from Green Bay and Appleton to Wausau, Marinette and Sturgeon Bay may experience repeated periods of rain, wet roadways and occasional thunderstorms. While severe weather is not highlighted in the current outlook, locally heavier downpours could slow travel along Interstate 41, U.S. Highway 10 and other regional routes.

Rain chances continue into Thursday with probabilities between 30% and 50%, while temperatures remain cool with highs from 67 to 75 degrees. Conditions begin improving Friday as temperatures rebound into the 83 to 87-degree range, although isolated showers and thunderstorms remain possible.

Residents should keep rain gear handy, monitor forecast updates and plan for changing conditions through midweek. Additional advisories may be issued if rainfall becomes more widespread or thunderstorms intensify across northeast Wisconsin.
