Fond du Lac County, WI Crash: Teen Driver Arrested After Fatal Rollover

Fond du Lac County, WI – A single-vehicle rollover crash involving multiple teenagers left one person dead and several others injured Saturday evening in Fond du Lac County, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received multiple 911 calls around 7:17 p.m. Saturday, June 13, reporting a rollover crash near W1951 Highway HH in the Town of Calumet. Initial reports indicated five to six occupants were involved, prompting officials to request additional ambulance resources.

Investigators said a sport utility vehicle traveling westbound on Highway HH failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The vehicle allegedly struck a culvert and driveway, became airborne, collided with a utility pole and rolled over.

Authorities reported the driver, a 16-year-old female from Sheboygan, and a 15-year-old passenger were transported to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac for treatment. Another 15-year-old passenger was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, while a fourth passenger was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan for evaluation. A 14-year-old passenger was not injured and was released to a parent at the scene.

A 16-year-old female passenger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.

According to investigators, impairment appears to have been a contributing factor in the crash. The 16-year-old driver was arrested and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail on suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation, which remains active.

Highway HH was closed for approximately five hours while emergency personnel treated victims and investigators processed the scene.

As with all criminal cases, the allegations against the driver remain accusations until proven in court.
