Waukesha, WI – A 91-year-old woman and her 92-year-old male passenger were killed Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 164 and Lawnsdale Road in the Village of Waukesha.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash at approximately 3:16 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed a 44-year-old man was driving a semi-truck southbound on Highway 164 when a northbound vehicle, driven by the 91-year-old, attempted to turn left onto Lawnsdale Road. The vehicle crossed into the truck’s path and was struck, then pushed into another vehicle stopped at the intersection.

Both occupants of the turning vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck and the driver of the third vehicle involved were transported to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The crash prompted the closure of the intersection for several hours while investigators worked the scene. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Village of Vernon Fire Department, and the Village of Waukesha Fire Department.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved, and the investigation remains ongoing.
