Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Scattered showers and a chance of thunderstorms could impact travel and outdoor plans across Wisconsin on Wednesday as temperatures climb into the upper 60s and low 70s.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, rain will move in by mid-morning Wednesday, with heavy downpours possible throughout the day. A few isolated thunderstorms could develop, especially in southern Wisconsin, bringing brief but intense rainfall and gusty winds.

Milwaukee, Madison, and Janesville are expected to see the highest rainfall totals, though the showers will remain hit-or-miss across much of the state. Commuters should allow extra time during the morning and evening drives as roads could become slick during periods of heavy rain.

While the storms are not expected to be severe, residents are urged to stay weather-aware. Those with outdoor activities planned should monitor local alerts and be prepared to move indoors quickly if thunder is heard.

This round of rain will give way to cooler and drier conditions late Thursday, but additional precipitation could return by the weekend. Updates and any advisories will be posted as conditions develop.
