Duluth, Minnesota – Drivers across northeastern Minnesota should expect reduced visibility and slick roads by early Tuesday as dense fog and drizzle move into the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, foggy conditions will develop overnight into April 23, with the heaviest impacts near Lake Superior, particularly along the I-35 and US-53 corridor. Lows will dip between 32 and 41 degrees, increasing the chance of light freezing drizzle before sunrise.
Cities including Duluth, Two Harbors, and Cloquet may see visibility drop below a quarter-mile in spots. Morning commuters are urged to allow extra travel time, use low beams, and avoid sudden stops. Light precipitation may persist into Wednesday and Thursday, with isolated thunderstorms possible, especially in eastern and southern parts of the state.
Conditions are expected to improve Friday as skies clear and temperatures climb into the 60s. This marks a shift to a warmer, drier pattern heading into the weekend.
Fog advisories may be issued overnight if visibility worsens. Stay tuned to the latest updates from NWS Duluth.
