Green Bay, WI – Residents should prepare for a rainy stretch as periods of rain, heavy at times, and embedded storms are expected to affect the area from Thursday afternoon through Friday evening. According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, two waves of rain will impact the region, bringing 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, with localized higher amounts possible.
The first wave, delivering moderate to heavy rain, is expected to move from the southwest to the northeast late Thursday night and continue into Thursday afternoon. The second wave, lighter but still impactful, will push through the area Thursday evening into Friday, potentially extending into the early weekend.
Residents should be aware of potential impacts, including localized flooding in urban and low-lying areas. Ponding on roadways during heavier downpours is also a concern, making travel hazardous. The forecast shows rain chances gradually decreasing by Saturday morning, with the weekend bringing more stable, albeit cooler, conditions.
