Milwaukee, WI – A significant heatwave is set to impact Wisconsin starting this weekend and intensifying into early next week. Temperatures on Monday are expected to surge between 87°F and 95°F, coupled with oppressive humidity. This combination will make Monday one of the hottest days of the summer.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, the heat index on Monday could reach 100°F or higher in some areas. Sunday will see similar conditions, with highs ranging from 80°F to 88°F. An early morning chance of storms might bring brief relief, but it will feel noticeably more humid afterward.

Tuesday will continue the trend of extreme heat with temperatures forecasted between 87°F and 94°F. A slight chance of evening thunderstorms could bring a temporary cool-down. By Wednesday, a cold front is expected to bring some relief, lowering temperatures to a more comfortable 79°F to 85°F.

Residents are urged to take precautions during the peak heat, including staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and checking on vulnerable individuals. With such high temperatures expected, heat-related illnesses are a significant concern.
