Corpus Christi, TX – A heatwave is expected to grip South Texas beginning Saturday, with temperatures soaring into the low 90s to around 100 degrees through Thursday. The hottest days will likely be Monday and Tuesday, with the possibility of scattered storms each afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Corpus Christi, the highest chances of rain and storms are expected in the Victoria Crossroads area on Monday and Tuesday. These storms may bring brief relief from the heat but could also bring lightning and strong winds.

Saturday through Wednesday will see isolated to scattered thunderstorms primarily in the afternoons and evenings, with nighttime temperatures dropping to the mid-70s. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, particularly Monday and Tuesday when heat risk is moderate to high.

Beachgoers should also be cautious as rip currents will be a concern over the weekend. High UV index readings and water temperatures in the upper 80s add to the potential hazards.
