Green Bay, WI – Bitterly cold wind chills and icy road conditions are impacting northeast Wisconsin as arctic air grips the region. Residents should prepare for dangerously low temperatures and challenging commutes, particularly Tuesday morning when wind chills may fall to 20 below zero.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay, wind chill values from 10 to 20 below zero are expected through late Tuesday morning, posing a risk of frostbite in as little as 30 minutes. Slippery spots are also anticipated on untreated roads, sidewalks, and bridges, making travel hazardous.

The week’s forecast shows a gradual warming trend but begins with harsh conditions. Tuesday will be partly sunny with highs near 18°F. Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies but remains blustery, with highs reaching 23°F. By Thursday, temperatures will climb to a milder range of 30–38°F. Friday is expected to remain above freezing, with highs near 40°F, offering some relief from the bitter cold.

Commuters are urged to drive cautiously and allow extra time for travel. Pedestrians should be mindful of icy walkways, especially during the morning hours. NWS officials advise dressing in layers, covering exposed skin, and keeping emergency kits in vehicles.

While snowfall chances remain low this week, gusty winds and freezing temperatures will dominate. Those spending time outdoors should limit exposure and monitor conditions closely.
