According to the National Weather Service, a High Wind Warning is in effect until 10 p.m. tonight, with wind gusts peaking in the afternoon. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and avoid unnecessary travel, especially in high-profile vehicles.
Washington’s Birthday on Monday will be mostly sunny but breezy, with highs near 38°F. By midweek, an arctic blast will send temperatures plunging, with lows in the teens and subzero wind chills possible. A chance of snow is also in the forecast for Wednesday night.
Looking ahead, temperatures will remain cold through the end of the week, with highs struggling to reach the mid-30s. Another round of snow showers could arrive by Thursday.
