Cleveland, OH – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, with lake effect snow and icy roads expected to create hazardous travel conditions through Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, counties in northern Ohio, including Cuyahoga, Lake, and Ashtabula, will see additional snow accumulations of up to one inch. The advisory in this area is in effect until 10 a.m., but nearby Pennsylvania counties will experience extended impacts. Crawford County’s advisory ends at 10 a.m., while northern and southern Erie counties remain under the advisory until 4 p.m., with up to two inches of additional snowfall expected.
Single-digit temperatures, gusty west winds, and snow are combining to create slick and dangerous roads. Officials warn drivers to slow down, plan for extra travel time, and delay unnecessary trips.
The Ohio Department of Transportation recommends visiting www.ohgo.com for current road conditions, while Pennsylvania motorists can check www.511pa.com for updates. Travel conditions are expected to improve gradually after 4 p.m. as snowfall subsides and winds diminish.
