Grand Rapids, MI – Residents in Mecosta, Osceola, Calhoun, Montcalm, Ionia, and Eaton counties are advised to brace for continued snowfall and hazardous travel conditions as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Friday.
According to the National Weather Service, areas under the advisory could see an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow, accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph. Officials have cautioned that visibility may fluctuate drastically, especially in lake-effect snow bands, making road conditions unpredictable.
The advisory warns drivers to slow down and exercise caution during their Thursday morning and evening commutes. Rapid weather changes, slippery roads, and reduced visibility are expected to impact travel in affected regions.
While the Winter Storm Warning has been canceled, the advisory underscores the potential for significant disruptions in areas like Big Rapids, Reed City, Battle Creek, Ionia, Greenville, and Charlotte. Residents are encouraged to monitor local updates and prepare for possible delays.
