Okanogan Valley, WA – A winter weather advisory has been issued for the Okanogan Valley, bringing a mix of freezing rain, light snow, and slippery roads through Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says areas including Oroville, Brewster, Tonasket, Okanogan, and Omak can expect icy conditions, with a light glaze of ice and less than one inch of snow accumulation. The advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m.

According to the NWS, the wintry mix is expected to create hazardous road conditions, especially along Disautel Pass and other key routes. Motorists are urged to reduce speeds, use caution, and check for updated travel information at wsdot.wa.gov/travel.

While impacts are expected to remain minor, residents are advised to remain vigilant. The mix of rain and freezing temperatures could worsen conditions on untreated roads and walkways.

Plan ahead for any necessary travel, and allow extra time to reach your destination safely. Stay tuned to local forecasts for updates as conditions evolve.
